Our Vision and Mission
We base our practical approach to the ministry in Moldova upon two fundamental truths: God has the ultimate vision for this world, and God is in charge of His mission in this world.
God’s vision is the ultimate vision
When we talk about vision, we mean God’s vision. We use the term “vision” in its basic meaning – one that points to perception of reality. It is something that we routinely check when we visit an eye doctor; it is our natural ability to see the environment.
God has a vision too! God’s vision is what He actually observes when He looks upon this world. The truth is that His “worldview” is the only accurate view. Since He is the Creator of the Universe, the true condition of this world depends on how God sees it.
The Bible records for us how He sees this world. Scripture says that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, (Romans 3:23) and that God sees no one righteous before Him. (Romans 3:10) This is bad news, but the good news is that God did not remain unaffected by the condition of the world. In fact, Bible says He loved the world, and went on a mission to save the world. (John 3:16)
God is ultimately in charge of His mission
Perhaps you’ve guessed that when we talk about mission, we talk about God’s mission as well. Because God loves the perishing world, He sent His Son Jesus Christ on a mission to save people. Jesus is God’s mission. He is God’s response to what He saw when He looked upon this world. (John 3:17)
Therefore, we look up to Jesus as the model for our missionary work. We do not lay any man-made principles or strategies as the foundation for our ministry. We strive to pattern our entire practical ministry after the life of Jesus Christ. Thus, the focus of our ministry is not what we do for the world, but in who we are to the world.
Our Response
We cannot change God’s vision for this world, nor we may alter His mission. All we can do is share His vision and join Him in His mission.
There can be no mission without vision. And there can be no mission that is pleasing to God, unless it is born out of a vision that is shared with God.
We chose to share the vision, and join the mission making the practical implications of these foundational truths our goals and tasks throughout all projects at XiT Ministries.
Our Goals and Tasks
How do we translate these truths into our practical ministry?
We intently follow Jesus Christ in the way He conducted His mission on earth. When Jesus began His ministry, He proclaimed the purpose of His presence on earth by reading from the book of Isaiah:
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” Luke 4:18-19
Wherever He went, with Himself Jesus brought the good news to the poor, freedom to captives, sight for the blind, liberty to the oppressed, and ultimately proclamation of the approaching age of grace. Traveling from town to town, village to village, He preached to the heartbroken, laid hands on the sick, fed the crowds, casted demons, embraced children, quieted storms, and even brought the dead back to life. Ultimately, He went on the cross to receive the penalty for the sins of the people He loved.
We accept that Jesus is still the One continuing the work of salvation today; therefore we seek to join Jesus in His ministry through taking up the cross and following Him.
By conducting our projects we seek to present Jesus with our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God. (Romans 12:1) Through His anointing, we aim to become everything and anything that His presence offered to the people in need. Our practical goal is to become the physical means for the Lord Jesus to preach the good news and perform what He so graciously did for the people in ancient Palestine.
Whatever the setting: a Bible lesson or a camp fire; a charity home visit or volley ball game; street evangelism or a private conversation, our daily tasks must be in the spirit of Jesus Christ’s presence.
How We Operate: Complete Sequence
By sharing God’s vision for the world in which we live, we strive to join God in His mission to seek and save the lost. We engage in projects like children camps, youth camps, youth clubs, and similar endeavors that present us with an opportunity to join Jesus in the saving work He continues this day. We aim wholeheartedly to bring His divine presence to the people through matching our daily tasks to God’s calling.
